Born from a recognition that innovation skills are increasingly essential yet unevenly distributed, the Loki Foundation was established to level the playing field.
Our founders, Charlie Tuxworth and Kathryn Lynch, have decades of experience helping organisations innovate and transform. They've seen firsthand how innovation capability can make or break businesses-and how those capabilities are often locked behind expensive consultancy arrangements or academic qualifications.
The name "Loki" comes from the Norse god of change and transformation, often associated with mischief. We embrace that sense of mischief, challenging the status quo and established ways of thinking to create far-reaching impact through a consistent, scalable approach to innovation.
Loki brings together education, industry, government and key stakeholders to provide a common language and toolkit for innovation.
We aim to deliver innovation literacy, opportunity, knowledge, and impact to those who need it but can't afford traditional course-based or consultancy routes.
With over 25 years of experience leading Enterprise Software Development projects, Charlie brings deep technical expertise and innovation management knowledge to Loki.
As an industrial advisor to Queen's University Belfast CSIT and Ulster University CSPT, he helps bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application.
Charlie conceived and created the Competency Framework for Innovation Management that underpins the Loki platform and is informing a new international standard for innovation competence.
An experienced enterprise software programme manager and business strategist, Kathryn brings extensive experience in both public and private sectors.
As an appointed industrial advisor to the Irish public sector, EU working groups, and Chair of the Small Business and Enterprise Council, she brings crucial insights into driving productivity and innovation in SMEs.
Kathryn's expertise in stakeholder engagement and programme delivery ensures Loki will create lasting impact.
Together, Charlie and Kathryn co-chair Innovate Island, an all-island community of innovation practitioners, advisors, and academics. Their combined expertise in innovation, standards development, and cross-border collaboration makes them uniquely qualified to lead the Loki Foundation's ambitious mission.
